New Honda CR-V earns five star rating from NHTSA
With its four siblings getting a 5-star crash rating, and perfect scores for the past two years, we imagine there were few of you worrying about the safety of the new CR-V from Honda. The NHTSA awarded the little sport ute 5 stars across the board on crash ratings and gave it a little smiley-face sticker too. Passengers in the new Honda are surrounded by a full range of standard air bags and held upright by standard stability control.
The CR-V didn't get a perfect score on its rollover test, however. The NHTSA said its testing indicated only a 15% chance of rollover for the fwd model and a 2% higher chance for the four-wheel drive model, but gave each four out of five stars.
Honda can add this star-studded honor to CR-V's trophy case which also includes an IIHS Top Safety Pick and a row full of green IIHS Gs (that's good, btw).

I am a two-time Pilot owner and would expect nothing but the top ratings from Honda. My Pilots have been perfect.

Nooo way. I mean this is Honda, no way they do anything good. I mean my Ford F-850 gets 7 start in front, side crashes. Plus my diesel engine gets 45 MPG...better than any anti American Prius and any Nansi Shmansi rice cooker named Honda.
Yeahhhh let's see this CR-what in head to head with my Mexican built F-850....yeaaaah North American cars are always better.
Now that GM is coming out with hydrogen engines (between now and 2018) it will be the end of Toyota and Honda. Yeah, the only reason Ford and GM have to offer insentives is because the liberal media wants us too. Yeahhhh, Prius Shmius.....everyone knows that Prius is for GIRLLLLS
Yeahhhh i get 45 MPG,i get 45 MPG,i get 45 MPG,i get 45 MPG. Nah nah nah nah.

the NTHSA and the IIHS safety ratings bring me a comment then Adam Key,a poster on IMDB mentionned about Vanishing Point, the last lines are the more interesting then I quoted http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0067927/usercomments
"-Finally, VP is also a "fin de siecle" story, a unique requiem for a quickly dying age- a now all-but-disappeared one of truly open roads, endless speed for the joy of speed's sake, of big, solid no-nonsense muscle cars, of taking radical chances, of living on the edge in a colorful world of endless possibility, seasoned with a large number and wide variety of all sorts of unusual characters, all of which had long made the USA a wonderful place--and sadly is no longer, having been supplanted by today's swarms of sadistic, ....soulless toll plazas, smug yuppie SUV drivers, tedious carbon-copy latte towns, and a childish craving for perfect, high-fuel-efficiency safety and security."
Come to think of it, any Hollywood producers wants to take the risk to use Hondas for car chases scenes and various stunts (like rollover or crashing against a bulldozer or over a cliff or gas station like Bullit, Duel, Vanishing Point) now they got their 5-stars from NHTSA? ;-)

Great job Honda and safety for everyone! Who gives a damn about Ford, Chrysler, or GM and their bullshit!! It took the Japs to build safe, fuel efficient, reliable green cars for them to get their act together.

Now THAT is the best-looking picture ever of the new CRV.

The CR-V IS a North American vehicle. It is built in Ohio, so to purchase one helps to support USA manufacturing jobs. So there.
Ford has ignored safety most of its existence. Pinto stalling & door jamming & explosions, Mustang II explosions, Explorer rollovers and roof cave-ins, Crown Vic explosions, etc...Ford has always been willing to kill its own customers if it might earn Ford stockholders an extra penny.

Finally, Volvo is helping to give Ford a conscience. But "too little, too late."
