Nissan prices the 2008 Altima Coupe from $20,490

When we first met the 2008 Nissan Altima Coupe at last year's LA Auto Show, we called it the "poor man's G35" despite its front-wheel drive layout. The reference is based more on the fact that the Altima Coupe is a looker just like the Infiniti G35 (soon to be G37) Coupe. According to Nissan, the new Altima Coupe will start at $20,490, excluding a $625 destination charge, making its style much more attainable than the significantly more expensive Infiniti coupe, and adding some substance to that "poor man's G35" label.
The $20,490 base price will get you an Altima Coupe 2.5 S with a six-speed manual transmission. For $500 more, or $20,990, you can have a CVT transmission instead of the manual. Both cars feature the 2.5L four-cylinder producing 170 horsepower. It would be a shame, however, to pass up on the 270-horsepower, 3.5L VQ-Series V6 engine, which is available on the uplevel SE model. The Altima Coupe 3.5 SE with a six-speed manual tranny starts at $24,890. Again, add another $500 to make it $25,390 for a 3.5 SE with Nissan's CVT transmission.

I saw 3 of these on the I10 south of Phoenix a few days ago, did't have my camera with me thought. They had black electrical tape over all the logos for some reason. Nice looking car!

Dodge, it won't be a RWD for the two simple reasons:
1. Cost cutting - the FFL platform is used for the Max, Murano, Altima, etc. It's cheap and easy to produce.
2. Avoid cannibalizing the G37's sales. Why buy a G37 at 35k when you can get a RWD (if it existed) Altima for 24k?

Love the way they stled the back end as a unique shape. The way they've nearly eliminated torque steer in the sednn, I'd love to take a spin in the 3.5! Sounds like a bargain.

Red turn signals, again?
Did nissan put larger front brake rotors 12.6"x 1.1" from the Maxima, in the V6 models. The 11.7"x1.02" are a bit small if you have ~100 more hp over the base model.

Is this going to be a 2008 or 2007 model? I have seen it listed as both. On both the official Nissan website and on Automobilemag.com, the articles say 2008, but when you look at the pictures, it says 2007. Thanks.

This is a 2008, not 2007. Wheels are way too small for this swoopy coupe. Alas, it has the same rediculous Nissan option packages that force you to get items you don't want in order to get the basic goodies. This is a deal breaker for me. Nissan is a company that forces it's customers to waste money for their sake. You can have it.

I cant wait because my parents are almost done with their payments on the '02 Altima and Im gonna def. push them trade in the one they have and buy this car the 270 HP with CVT transmission yea with the technology package (im 15 yrs. old)
